Description:

Are you looking for a sweet and loving companion? Then look no further because John Boy is your guy! John has had a rough start to his life. He came in as a stray to an extremely overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma, where he won over many volunteers with his calm and extremely sweet demeanor. After arriving to Wisconsin, it was determined that he needed some medical help. John was diagnosed with Perianal gland Carcinoma and while running some routine blood tests it was determined that he was also Heartworm Positive. Although he wasn't feeling the greatest that never slowed him down. He recently had his surgery to remove the cancer and the wonderful vets at Delevan animal clinic were able to remove everything. Now that he has recovered from surgery he is ready to find his furever home! Due to him being Heartworm Positive, Lucky Mutts is looking for a special home for this sweet boy. LMR will be paying for his heartworm treatment and are willing to let him go to the right home during this time. He really is a fantastic dog. Since his arrival to his foster home he has not barked at all. He has had no accidents in the house, and is trustworthy alone. He is good with absolutely everything! He loves kids and other dogs, doesn't mind cats either! He is very spoiled at his foster house. Sometimes he sleeps in bed with his foster mamma, but other times he prefers to sleep on his dog bed in the living room. He walks decent, but is very strong! He is not an off leash type of dog, if he smells something he will go and not look back. He really is a dream dog. John Boy is terrified of thunderstorms. Though he has never been destructive, he prefers to hide on or with his humans. He would be the perfect addition to any family! His adoption fee of $300+tax includes neuter, rabies/distemper/bordetella vaccines, dewormer, microchip, heartworm negative and on preventative and health certificate from veterinarian.
